New Member looking for some guidance!
Well, after 3 years of running my beloved 95 Chevy Silverado short bed, my parents said I had to look at getting something more fuel efficient for college so I found and purchased myself a 2004 Monte Carlo SS. It's kind of an odd ball color it is the Cappucino Frost Metallic so like a gray pearl. It has the NA 3800 with only 82,000 miles and someone put a low restriction exhaust on it (cannot tell what brand). I do all of my own work and was wondering what some possible low buck performance upgrades i could do, whether it be suspension, or engine. Curious as to what you guys think! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!
https://montecarloforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=10942 Have a good read :) You'll want to read on about how to modify your L36. I have basically all of the "bolt-on" mods with a good tune and I'm averaging about 34mpg |
Alright, thank you! I was looking into a CAI actually and wasn't sure if I had the money to kick around for a K&N. So maybe just a filter for the stock intake box? What do you think?

There are tons of threads on cold air intakes, honestly you will be best of just getting this one:
https://www.zzperformance.com/grand_...=247&catid=113 THE best CAI for the 3.8 engine. I have the K&N and wish I got this one instead, because the K&N looks good... but the heat shield sucks so much. |
Alright that is what I had read from some reviews, I'll figure something out.
Hopefully I'll post pictures later this week I gutted the interior to replace the heater core. Thanks for all the help! |
