Finally Saying Hello
Hi there. I'm Geddy from Il. I've been a member for awhile and finally decided that I would introduce myself. Just want to say that I think this site is very enjoyable and informative. I've learned a ton of info about our Montes and think it's great that everyone has their own personal opinion.
I currently own a black 2006 Monte SS that I purchased last year with 30K miles. I had traded in my 2001 Monte SS (which I had for 6 years) for it. A sad moment because I wanted to keep both of them but couldn't afford to do so. I love the power of the 06 with the V8. So I think that really won me over. There are a number of pros and cons between the 01 and 06 which I can go into further sometime later, but I still think that they're the best cars to own out there! I've never traded in a car for the same make and model before. So I think that really says something about the Monte.
I also still own a 1996 Ford T-Bird. (Ok, here comes the boos LOL!). I drive that locally just to save some miles off of the Monte. It has 150,000 miles on it and has been good to me for 14 years.

i actually dont mind those 80's & 90's T-birds. the S/C & turbo ones were sweet i wish chevy had made the monte's RWD as some direct compitition for the t brids, but im not complaining about my front driver, haha.
welcome to the forum!

Thanks Ryan. I agree with that. I was a big fan of Nascar in the 90's. When all of your top drivers were either driving a T-Bird or Monte. What a competition on Sundays and at the dealer! In 1996 I had to decided between the two. My dad was a Ford man so I think he swayed me to the T-Bird.

Hi Geddy,
Welcome to the MCF. You are lucky to have two rides. We hope you post pic's of both. We love pictures on the MCF.
Is your T-Bird a 4.6L V& or the 3.8L six ?
Look forward to your future post.
We wish you safe miles in both.
Enjoy the MCF....Good Luck

My T-Bird is a 3.8 V-6 (blue/green color). Wish I had gotten the V-8. It's heavier than the 01 Monte Carlo. And not as fast as the 3.8 that's in the 01 Monte. But has a very nice ride.
Spacerider, do I have to make at least 5 posts before I can attach a picture? Currently it says "You may not post attachments". Looking forward to posting a picture of the 06 Monte.
So nice to see some of you appreciate the Ford T-Bird as I do.
