Default just bought another monte

hello, just got a 2006 ss , traded my 01 monte in few years ago and missed it ,
i was needing some advise on the door chime, they said they just put a battery in before i bought it and it stared doing this , the door chime sounds like the key was left in but its not , ideas? thanks rick

Hi Rick, Welcome to the Monte Carlo Family...

something is probably wrong with the tumblers in the ignition. The car still thinks the key is in even if it's not.

Check this below site & check back on your thread to see if any of our member's had this problem or knows how to fix it. Good Luck

Can you upload a video? And does it have an aftermarket radio? If so, I believe a separate speaker has to be installed for the chime, maybe that is why it sounds different?

thanks for your help, i did get it fixed , took the plastic works from around steering wheel off got down to the ignition switch and tap around on it while taking the key was in and out and it stopped , so the contact that shows the key in was stuck , lucky fix lol , thanks again
