i have a 97 monte carlo ls with a electric problem i think
the problem is that the mass air flow sensor when i bought the car wasnt connected i was told i needed a new sensor so bought one and connected everything and got the code that popped up cleared so i tried to start up my car but it again cut off so i took off the sensor and the car runs but idles very high like 1200-1500 rpm it is killing my gas mileage and all around performance. Can any1 help me with sum advice and also does any 1 have a mass air flow sensor to spare.

does it have a k&n filter on the car??? that could be messing up the sensor if the filter is still wet from oil, also i know its gonna sound wierd, but coolant temp sensor causes wierd idling sometimes...also could be a tps
