Default 99 Monte LS electric window problem

I just bought this car and neither of the windows will go down. I switched the fuse with the power seat fuse and the fuse seems to be fine. Is this a common problem? What is my fix? Thanks for you help!

Could be the switches the motors or a mechanical problem like the windows are off the track. All you can do is to start checking one thing at a time with a test light or voltmeter.

the power windows in 5th gen car's suck. they seem to be quite problem prone, my guess because they are inadiquate for the size of the window glass.

is there any indication of the motor trying to work at all? if not it could be the switch...

on my '97 the motor actually broke off the track, and on the '96 i had the glass totally jumped the window chanel. stuff like that can be prevented by removing the door panels and lubricating all the moving parts on the window mechinizam every couple of years, and i would highly suggest doing so if it's a new car to you.
