1998 Monte

Hello all, I guess I'm new to this forum..this sounds silly but I don't seem to be able to find out how to start a new thread! Anybody?

My question is I got a 401 code, and I've teste the egr itself and it seems to be okay. The car runs fine. I've reset the MIL and I can go about 200mi, and then it will throw the code. I hate to throw money at a problem, and was wondering if anyone's got any ideas?

Greetings!

The EGR passage can become clogged or restricted with carbon build up causing an EGR trouble code. Maybe try cleaning it and see if that resolves the problem?
