If it was the factory res. Most people on here have got ride of it and used normal pipe. Sone replaced with glasslacks and whatnot. I know that's what I'm gonna do is replace with a normal pipe. Did u order the gaskets off zzp as well btw? I gotta look in ma box and see if mines came with gaskets, I don't think it did though

Just ask, ask them what they can do. Can they make a quick cut and weld a new flange and piece of pipe, just ask for their recommendation and let them know your actual budget.

 

I just installed the 2.5" ZZP catted Downpipe. I also have that tapping sound sound in the engine bay when im heavy on the throttle. Theres also a wisping sound coming from the exhaust like vroooommm wsss. And then when i turn the car off its like wssswwsssswss like swirling. I have borla stainless catback exhaust, flanges coming off the res were rusted tho so i took a air compressed sander/grinder and sanded down through the rust and smoothed it out. It did NOT come with gaskets so i bought 2 new gaskets from napa, took a wore wheels to all the studs and bolts, put anti-seize on everything and torqued it down as mcj as i could. Scince the day ive got the car, ive always had a "popping" backfire when revving anf letting off or flooring it and then letting off mid rpm-climb. Still does it with the dp. Would a powerlog be a waste of time? Its a n/a.. But the exhaust has 2 decent sized borla mufflers, borla resonator, 200 cell high flow cat, and its all 2.5" piping, stainless. Stock headers and crossover... Would adding just a powerlog help or hurt? Would it make it sound better? Just installed the DP 2 days ago, driven prolly... Hour and half. Some on heavy accl. Awhile on cruise at 70mph. And at one point took it past 105 on the freeway early in the morning on a sunday (wow what a difference with downpipe on top end, flew past 105 had to let off cuz ik id top out soon (still stock pcm). Soo. Whats the tapping? Wisping/swirling noise? Backfire? Powerlog? Help! Advice! Thanks!!

 

I don't kno what the poppin noise could be. That happens to me sometime when ibrev the engine. Idk about some people but ot seems to me once I put tje plog on I had a bit more power and improved mpg so ibwould say do it
