Cool ZZP Downpipe

I should be getting my ZZP 2.5" downpipe with the high performance magnaflow cat installed on friday. Let everyone know how it does on the car. Has anyone else installed this, how did it effect the car

The downpipe seems to be one of the biggest factors on changing the sound of the exhaust. My old RealTek made the car sound like it should be only on the dragstrip and woke up the neighbors. I really liked the power I felt off it.

My SLP downpipe is much more tame and I can feel it robbed some power. I don't have to worry about cops andymore.

I've been tempted to buy them, since they are just a simple bolt in procedure right?

I mean I've been wanting to take my car to an exhaust shop to get a full system done, but as of right now I don't think I'm going to have the money to do the system for a while, and was just debating on getting the downpipe for now.

Let me know how it goes for you.

Yeah, its just 4 simple bolts, 2 on each end. Its a simple 30 minute job.

I have the 3" catless ZZP DP on my gtp, and I like it. The power difference wasn't that big compared to say- rockers or headers, but its not bad.

Thats another important point to bring up- now that headers are drastically coming down in price for the 3800- it may be something to think about to get headers instead (since many come w/ the downpipe included). I've seen some of the sets go for $250 shipped or less on ebay.

Back before they were available, I bought the 3" DP in stainless for $100, and a powerlog for ~$75- so a full set of headers wouldn't be that big of a jump.

With money being tight for me right now ($1500 going to my transmission, that i was going to use for mods) I'm looking for all stuff that I can cheaply do with basic knowledge and hand tools in a day.

I prefer to drive up to my parents 3.5 hours and do the work with my dad in his heated garage, plus he has a few more tools than I do. I just run a simple ratchet set in my trunk haha

Also, Bumpin' if I went with the downpipe what would you recommend for my N/A with just a FIPK.

I gettin the 2.5" ZZP. i thinkin about the 3" but for the NA you run a possible loss of torque, the 2.5" should not drop any torque. the 3" is good for the SC models

thats what i got except just did not get the stainless did not feel it was worth paying extra for it, when 95% of the people are not going to see that anyway. the only things i will get stainless are the headers and the mufflers and the tips will the chrome or polished stainless
