Now before anyone gets the wrong idea, I'm not investing in the new downpipe for the sound, but I'm just curious...is there any real difference in sound on the L36 3.8 with the new downpipe without a cat? I'm sure there's at least some difference in exhaust note but I was simply curious if it was noticeable.

 

That cat makes it a tiny bit quieter. Pitch it lol

 

Oh I wasn't even planning on getting the downpipe with the cat. I have no interest in paying $80 extra for it when there's no emissions testing around here anyways.

Just don't get caught removing your cat or not having it...it can be up to a $2500 fine for you and $25000 for the shop that did it, regardless of which state you live in since its a federal law.

 

it'll make it a touch louder but not bad...i put a 2 1/2" catless DP and got rid of the res. on my moms 01 SS and she LOVES it...made it a little throaty but nothing horrible at all.....

labnjab: a shop cant get fined 25K if you install the pipe in your own driveway :P (i always encourage people to do their own installs btw...im only teasin)
