Default Window doesn't roll up or down

So I drive a 2002 MC and a few months ago, I arrived at a football game tailgate and shut my door. The next thing I know, the window (which was rolled up) was down about 2". I tried to roll it back up using the switch but the window wouldn't budge. I heard what sounded like a grinding noise when I tried to move the window with the switch. The window wouldn't roll up or down and I have had to shim it up since.

Does anyone know what the issue may be? Thanks!

It sounds like the window has come off of the regulator (the mechanism that raises/lowers the window). There are a couple of retainers that attach the window glass to it. Best scenario is that they broke and need replacing. Worst scenario is damage to the regulator itself. You'll need to remove the interior panel from the door for further inspection. Hopefully the grinding noise you heard wasn't part of the regulator scratching the window as it was moving up/down.

Definitely sounds like that. Should be fairly easy to get to if you take your door panels off alot like I do. lol
