I have this strange problem where everyday after school my 02' Monte acts like it isn't getting any fuel when i go to start it. This is the only time i ever have trouble starting it, but it does it everytime. It eventually fires up and is okay but im not sure what the problem is. I recently got the p0442 code and i was wondering if and how they might be related and if anyone has any idea how i can fix it. I was thinking about buying a vent valve, but i'm not sure if that is the right way to go or not. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My '04 Monte throws me a PO442 Code if I let the level of fuel in the tank get real low.
I'm sure it's time to replace the Charcoal Canister and EVAP Purge solenoid at 106K.

 

Generally EVAP codes have no effect on performance.
