Default Why am I blowing my heated seat fuse?

For some reason I cant keep my heated seat fuse from blowing. After I change it the seats work fine one time and the fuse blows again. Its a 15, i tried a 25 and it blew that too. Any ideas whats going on?

Default RE: Why am I blowing my heated seat fuse?

first off not trying to sound like a *** here but you have a short in your seats

they keep blowing to protect you from somethign weather it is a bad ground or a cut wire etheir way they have a reson for this and putting a bigger fuse in to it is only going to get you in to grief later. as you will eventually get one bigenough it cant blow it and catches something on fire. This is not agood thing.

Take the seat out and check teh wireing goign in to the seat and also the wires that go under the carpet or run in to the center councial and see if any are tore up so they are grounding out. Also check the seat grounds and make sure that the switches etc. are on a good ground.

IF this all checks out then try changing your switch.

I have ehard this same thing from others that have the factory heaters in thier cars that they tend to short out or blow fuses alot. not sure what or how or even why they do it.

So you might think of calling a dealer and se eif they have any sujestions also. Could be it is just time to change out the seat heaters in the seat.
