7th Gen ('06-'07): Whistling noise when accelarating
#6
Yea the acceleration is normal. And it doesn't do it everyday just every now and then

i would look at the pulley's as i mentioned above.
to test it, when its warmed up and actually doing it, stop the car, pull the belt(s) off, and rotate every pulley (except the crank). if it is the pulley, you will know which one it is pretty quick. for the tensioner, you will need a 3/8" socket wrench to remove the belt and to flex it back and forth after the belt is off.
if you hear no squeaks or whistles, then its something else.

so let’s talk about this a little. My 01 has picked up a whistle that sounds like it’s a vacuum leak it is mostly under load but I can make it do it in park. Also it started after I first put a/c on this year a couple of weeks ago although that may be coincidence. It is a California car if that matters. I can take cat out now as it is no longer a California car. Lol... I’ve changed egr, map sensor, multiple lines and fittings. I’ve stethoscoped the area to no avail. It’s not running real bad except at top end and shifts funny to me now. Seems to be getting worse too. You would think I could pick up the whistle with the scope but I can’t for some reason. Sounds like it’s on the back of the motor behind coil pack but I don’t know for sure. Baffled to say the least...
