Think its the waterpump? Pulley? I tried this old trick on my truck where you take some brake fluid and pour it on the belt and if it immediately gets quiet its the belt and if it doesnt its the ???bearings???. Well mines got quiet and sure enough when I changed the belt no more sqeak...

This happens on ALL my chevys - it's annoying and loud as hell on my silverado - but the one part where the belt connects at (the piece at the bottom where you stretch it from...forget the term) is loose and shakes back and forth a bit - so that increases the squeak. On my Monte it only happens in the cold and it's not too terribly loud, but I'm sure that is just the old belt needs replacing.

Have you tried to rotate each piece with the belt off. Maybe you can pinpoint the problem. If that don'e work you may want to get a mechanic's stethoscope(the kind with a metal rod on it) to see if you can tell where the noise is coming from.

belt tentioner or idel pully. but when you have the belt off i would take a meatle brush ahd clane any pully thurolly that has groves on it to make sure that it didnt get any dirt or old matereal stuck on them to make a squeak. it happened to me when my water pump broke on my monte didnt clean the pullys because i didnt think there were matereal that was stuck on any of the pullys when i put on the surpintine belt
