That I know of there really is no gain. Main use is if you need somewhere to tap for nitrous or meth injection.

"A throttle body spacer will insulate your TB from the heat of the supercharger. Keeping your TB cool will help keep your intake temperatures down thus reducing KR and increasing HP potential."

Straight from ZZP's website.

Agreed it's only greatly used for a place to tap

It looks like a lot of different terminology is getting minced together...

Throttle Body Spacer - A throttle body spacer is designed to increase the capacity of the plenum. This theoretically increases the potetial for producing power.

Throttle Body Insulator - As the name implies, a throttle body insulator is designed to isolate the throttle body and reduce/prevent heat soak through radiant heat transfer.

Throttle Body Adaptor - A throttle body adaptor is a plate installed between the throttle body and plenum to provide an injection point for nitrous oxide, methane or water depending on application.

Hope that helps clear up some of the confusion...

The gains of a spacer would be pretty igsignificant for the price of it. Of course zzp is going to talk it up. If I could get $150 for a small piece of aluminum, I'd make it sound like it could change the world.

this is still wrong to a point...... the spacer and a adapter do the exact same thing as far as moving the tb further away, both can be tapped the same for injection point as well. the only reason you need a tb adaptor is if your going to gen v, swapping l26 plenum onto l36 etc.

also remember this, if you space the tb out away from the engine then you push it closer and over the exhaust cross over which defeats the purpose of spending money on it IMO.

Hey, but then ZZP has a "shield" they can sell you to help "insulate" the TB from the heat of the cross over. Not to mention a ceramic coated cross over pipe too!

If you were going crazy with heat control enough to spend money on an insulating TB spacer- then I would also imagine you would've already done the cheaper mods of shielding it from the crossover or header wrapping the crossover pipe- since both are typically cheaper than a TB spacer with insulating properties.

Agreed- I'd rather keep saving towards a mod that actually makes a more significant power change.
