I have looked in to them in the past , was basically told no preformance gains are there to be had unless you have built the motor up.

as far as how hard, would not be that hard it is litterly take one off and putting it in there and new gaskets etc...

not to difficult

Not a difficult mod, but as Mickey suggested, the gains are not worth the cost...

I agree...unless you have modded ur engin big time, like rebuilt with new heads, valve job, roller rockers, ect, you probably would not notice a difference. The spacer serves several different purposes; one being it increases the overall length of the intake runners, giving you a lil more low end torque, the draw back is the engine will struggle a lil more on the top end to get sufficient amounts of air. This basically would move the power band down a few RPMs. It also allows the air flow a lil more time to straighten out before it enters the manifold, and would give you a lil better air/fuel mixture. It also will keep the TB itself a lil cooler so you would get slightly better throttle response. All it all unless you have a heavily modded engine you will not see significant increases in any of these things I have mentioned, but if you really want to put it on it would not take that long, like mickey said, just take the TB off slide the spacer in and use new gaskets and longer bolts.

one thing i seriously wish i could figure out is how to change the throttel response on mine to be just a tad bit more touchy then it is. right now seems so slugish .

but this is probbly mor eme then the car i am not used to having to wait for the car to respond

if your going to get a TB spacer look for one out of acrilic or composite material. the AL ones will transfer heat to the TB. on our cars GM did a pretty good jog at making air flow and tuning intake lenghts. again the more you mod, the more you will walk away from their balance. but yeah from what i have seen TB spacers are anywhere from 50-100+ dollars. i'd say save it for an Underdrive pulley. but again i never saw any gains from my pulley. but im sure you'll see more from a pulley then a spacer!

Mickey I would say you are probably right...the throttle response is probably an ECM issue, unless you are talking about an all out pedal to the floor issue, like taking a long time to down shift. I have noticed that and it bugs the heck out of me. I have been told my many poeple that their shift kit for the tranny helped with this tremendously. I really want to get the thrasher kit but im back in school now so it will probably have to wait till the summer time again. If you ever have any luck with improving the throttle response though please let me know.

PS: sorry for the thread hijack

TB spacer not worth the $$$ in my opinion

well if the Thrasher kit will help i will find out soon im waiting for it to get here now.
i had a off brand in it before i thought it was the thrasher and found out diffrent. So i just orderd the Thraser kit . so we shall see.

But i also have a reprogramed computer so i can change shift points and belive me it make some diffrence in the way it shifts but i was not to impressed with the way it shifted from gear to passing gear. to much LAG time.

But im talking all around about the respons. from a stop or on the go it has a hesitaion in it to long for me to say i really .like it.
