Default Turn signals go off at times.

One of my old Monte's (2001 LS) which is now my Son's has an issue.

He is out of state at College so I can't take a look at it.

He is driving and the turn signals work then go off (not blinking or lighting up) then they start working again. I told him to try the hazard lights next they do not work but have not heard back from him yet.

Do these cars still have flashers? Any other ideas? I am hoping it is not the multi-function switch or BCM. It only has 35k original miles.

Thanks,

Thanks Space!

I saw the one on the multifunction switch. I just emailed my Son with the Hazard switch info. I also gave him a link to the forum (trying to get him to join).

Try swapping fuses first.

I would also look into the fuses first... if he hit the hazard switch and that didn't work then Space is right, it is most likely the hazard switch.

Hi Joe, I have the same problem with my 02 SS. I know it's the Hazard switch for me cause when i tap it, the blinker works and I've already checked my fuses. The fuse is a good check. If the fuses are good then when the blinkers don't work try flicking the Hazard button with a finger. If the blinker comes on then the Hazard/Blinker switch/relay is bad.
I'm Glad you put up this thread and Space responded with a better price than I have found.
Space, were have you found the Blinker/Hazard switch assembly for $50. I've looked all over and keep getting referred back to the "Stealership" who wants $100 for it!

Thanks for all the info everyone! I will have him try the fuses and hazards first.
