Default Turn Signal Trouble?

2001 Monte Carlo SS

OK this has me perplexed....

The other day my turn signal started doing some strange things like blinking really fast with a "clicking" coming from the dash around the hazard light switch. So I checked all the lights and I noticed the front driver side and rear passenger side markers were burned out. So I replaced those bulbs. Now the "clicking" hasn't come back but the turn signal is still not quite illuminating right. It seems slower than normal and not the usual turn signal "sound" when I got out and looked my side markers weren't working....even the bulbs I just replaced? LOL

Now it is intermittent in that when I drive it in a few hours its likely to all work correctly. So whats the opinion on this? Bad turn signal switch in the steering column? Bad hazard switch? Bad wiring?

Thanks guys.

Could be a bad Multifunction switch.

1 way to check it...

Have a friend "Jiggle" the turn signal switch. Watch the Tail lights and turn signals
If they start flickering you have a bad multifunction control switch.

OK will do. The "multifunction switch" is that the turn signal switch that also has like my wipers on it too? So it could be the switch that "runs" all that then is what you are saying?

If it turns out to be that switch is there any reason to go with a $200 switch as opposed to a $35 one on Ebay? I replaced my Olds with a cheap one once and it worked fine.
