I followed that instruction for my 2006 Monte Carlo because it is making creaking noise that i can feel in the steering.

I found the hole in the shaft.. it is close the the part of the shaft under my dash that looks like a small u-joint. Is the shaft hollow? The red straw did not want to go in very far.. maybe less than an inch.

Does anyone make an after market shaft that is better.

My friend has a Dodge ram that had the same problem and she found a Borgeson shaft that solved the problem.
