i was driving the car for about an hour in the rain then parked and left it running for about ten minutes (i stayed in the car). i started to drive away went about 20 yards and it started sputtering. still moving but half power.

drove about 2 miles and stopped at a light for 30 seconds. when driving off from the light it seemed to have stopped but then came back after 10 seconds of driving.

it has stayed that way now for about 20 miles. not much hesitation or bucking just sputtering as i drive. doesnt seem to effect the idle much but definatly when i accelerate.

the car kinda sounds like a boosted subaru the way the exhaust has a kinda sputtering sound.

 

so i brought it home and let it sit for an hour. started up and ran about 3 miles without the issue(sputtering). then it started again.

i read somewhere that a bad fuel pump will act like crap when it gets hot. it seems like a fuel issue.

another side issue that may relate is that for the past 4 months or so if i gave throttle really hard on an incline it would sputter and spit until i let off and applied the gas slowly. this sounds like a fuel pump to me so mabey it just giving up finally.

 

so i start it this morning it runs fine for 5 miles then sputtering. then of and on sputtering 10 seconds sputter 10 seconds normal.
it did this for another five miles.

i put in new gas just before i parked it and it went away. mabey only for a few minutes but ill find out when i leave work.

it may have been bad gas.

 

its been 1aday or so since i added new gas and the problem is no longer so i will chalk this on up to bad gas.
