Sputtering
Hey guys,
I had posted something similair on this before, but i just had it in the shop and still have the same problem. This is completely random, sometimes the car will do it, sometimes it wont. When i get to 2000-3000 RPM I can see the RPM'S drop a little and then i cant accelerate at all, the car will sputter and kick back very hard. I had it into my local GM dealers shop and they took the entire tranny apart and said it looks fine, no issues. They then sent the car back to me saying that my intake is making the car run lean (bunch of bs). but just to make sure i threw the old intake back on and still have the same issue. anyone ran into this before and have any opinions.
Tony

RE: Sputtering
Clogged fuel filter. Dying fuel pump. Thats the first thing that I think of. If its intermitten like you say, does it do it when the engine is cold, warm or hot?
When my fuel pump was dying it would only do it if the engine was hot, than sat for alittle bit, enough for it to cool down to about half temp, then on restart it would chug between 2000-3300 rpm's. Finally got bad enough that it was stalling out the engine. Try letting your engine run for about 10-15 minutes at idle, and see if it gets a rough idle. Might even stall out.
