i have an 02 ss with the onstar factory amp package i had a stick on antenna that someone took ..i went to part stores all over they all have the same garbage just for show antennas im guessing its an amplified antenna since i remember it was a lil heavy and theres a lil modulator inside behind where it gets stuck on tried junkyards no luck they want to sell me the entire wiring system with it....has anyone ran into this issue, or know where i can get the same one with out paying 50$ to the dealer... thanks

 

Since OnStar switched to digital in 05, your antenna doesn't work anymore. For OnStar to work you would have to take your car to the dealer and get your system converted to digital.

 

Well im not really looking to use it i disconnected it i need it for the radio i have poor reception

 

The FM antenna is built into the back glass - it has nothing to do with the black OnStar antenna on the out side of the back glass. Does your rear defrosters work? Maybe the wires were cut by a razor blade or something?

 

Yeah i was just gonna say that.
My antenna fell off, after i washed the car, the glue or w/e it was coming off and it finally did, it was leaning so i decided to remove it.
It has NOT affected reception not ONE BIT, i do miss it because i was gonna put one of them NFL mini helmets on there.

 

There also could be a problem at the back of the radio where the FM wire plugs into it.
