Our car has a smell to it and jerks when we drive it. anyone know what this could be ?

 

Your Catalytic Converter mite be clogged if it smells like Egg thats it!

 

Check for vacuum leaks, normally that will do it.

The computer reading states that the 3rd piston is misfiring. plug wire and coil are all good.

 

If the wires are good and the plug is too then you have either a bad injector or wire harness, burnt valve seat, collapsed lifter, broken valve spring, or a mechanical failure of the piston or rings. I doubt it's one of the these or it would make a ton of noise besides the misfire. The injector should be easy to detect using a mechanics stethoscope. Listen to the other injectors and then see if the questionable cyl makes the same sound. My bet is the wire or plug is faulty and you've missed something....
