2000 SS jerk into gear
so I just bought a Monte Carlo SS 2000 3.8 non super charged.
sometimes after driving in traffic when the.car gets a little hotter than usual.
the trans starts jerking in every gear I think. but after a turn off and a 5 minute cool down the car goes back to normal. I had a 2004 grand prix that did that never found out the cause just sold it. but I want to fix it on this car so if anyone can give me at least a few ideas and a worst case scenario and price. I hope it's just trans fluid or something small.

Start with changing the fluid and filter. If that doesn't work, it's going to either be solenoids in the tranny failing or the tranny itself needing a rebuild. Good luck.
if the tranny did need a rebuild wouldnt it be doing this all the time? i never heard of a transmission that fixes it self at times but then again im not a mechanic haha but ill probably hop on changing the fluids, hopefully thats it. is there a detailed guid on how to do this already on the site?
