Exclamation Transmission Jerk

Lately, my 05 Monte LS has had a problem when taking off from a stop or a rolling stop, the engine does not rev more then usual but you can tell not all the power is going to the ground. It then jerks, and after the jerk, the proper amount of power seems to be going to the ground. Possible torque converter issue?

Found similar issue on an 04 Impala:

Probably time for a transmission rebuild....
Are you low on trans fluid? Whens the last time you checked it?

Whens the last time you did a fluid and filter change?

How many miles are on the vehicle?

Unhappy

The trans fluid was just changed and is still perfect. There is 120,000 miles on the car. My buddy and I were think thinking that the celnoids need to be replaced, or the entire transmission all together. I'm just afraid of how much it'll cost...

Also the weird thing about it is, somedays it'll drive completely normally, and others it jerks every time I accelerate. It wouldn't a big deal, but I'm leaving for a 600 mile one way road trip in a month...

Could be a failing shift solenoid. Same problem happened to my car. Take it to a transmission shop where they will be able to scan the tranny for any codes. Wouldn't be shocked to see code P1811 show up.

Default Tranny

Just rebuilt my trans on my '02 with 114,000 miles a few months ago - cost $2600. Did not include tranny lines, and they leak and now I have to replace them.

Hello, I am a new member here but I believe I can give you some usefull information. I just bought a 2003 Monte SS limited edition from my dealer a week ago. Mine started doing the same thing, hard upshifts and jerkin from 0-40, sometimes even slipping. At one point my traction control light came on and off by itself too. I just tok it to the best tranny shop here in lex. ky and i was told my torque converter went bad, therefore ruining drivetrain. Luckily I got extended warranty. I am having my entire tranny rebuilt right now. I was told its a common issue on these montes from 2000-2006. Something about code 1850 or tranny needs reprogrammed from factory settings to be the cause of this. Hope this helps and if you can try getting extended warranty from mileage plus protection plan, 100 dollar deductible. Luke

I am having a similar problem on my 03 SS with 145k on the odometer.

I have been scared to have it checked because of the potential bill
