RE: Security
ok, my car (2002 SS) has the security light coming on every once in a while when I start it. But if I turn it off, and then back on, its not lit. Will one of these bypass modules fix it so I don't have to worry about being stranded someday?

RE: Security
According to my manual the secirity light is supposed to show when you start it, just like the other lights. Mine shows sometimes, sometimes not. If it's acting like that, I'd say, you'll probably have the problem at some point. Can't answer the bypass question except I'm not sure it works on all year models.

RE: Security
Once in a while, when I start it the security light will be on until I turn the car off and restart it. It for some odd reason only seems to do that when I get outta work. Its kinda wierd, lol. Does that mean I have to replace the thing by the ignition switch? I don't want the car not to start some night. Getting outta work and into my car is supposed to be a happy time!

RE: Security
Oh, I see, your's stays on after you start it. Not supposed to do that. Don't know if that's a ignition issue or something else. The manual says if it comes on while driving that it's not working properly but will still start, so I don't know if that would be the same with it staying on from starting. Weird, either way, something's not right.

RE: Security
I'm a bit late to this thread but I also had the infamous passlock issues. I read many horror stories about people getting the PCM and ignition module replaced and then have the problem pop up again 6 months later. In my research I found an easy solution in which you measure the resistance of the passlock system and solder in a resistor. This tricks the passlock and allows the car to start essentially bypassing the passlock. It works the same as a bypass module but won't cost you as much if you do it yourself.
