Default Driver Information and Security Group probs

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo LT, and I'm having problems with the driver info on the overhead console. First, it stopped showing me the outside temperature and now shows "0C" all the time, and second, I am having problems trying set up the home link system for the garage door opener...

I got it as a used car, and it didn't come with an owner's manual[:@]...

Please help!!!!!

Welcome to the forum!!!

I would start off with the basics, pull the unit down and make sure all the connections are tight. If it still does the same thing I would go junkyard diving for a used replacement. I've seen these on e-bay as well. If the replacement still does not work it's puter related.

Now that I think about it, I would:

1. Pull it down to make sure everythings secure.

2. Pull your battery cable for a couple of hours to clear/reset the puter.

3. Find a replacement.

Let us know what you find..

also if you can find a local mechnic hat has the GM putere you can have them run codes on it and see if it comes up wih any,

the other thing before you pull your bat. make sure if you have the theft lock on the stereo you disabel it so that it will work when you reattach your bat. ( I have never done this so i cant tell you how to do it)
if someone out there knows how they might beabel to post the destructions for ya here .
