I have a 2007 Monte Carlo and the remote start quit working and I have a check engine light on now? Help? Suggestions?

 

yes, it's because the check engine light came on. i've had this same problem. it could be something simple like an evap code (this is what happened to me). make sure your gas cap is on right by giving it a couple turns. then hopefully it should go out after 5 turn key starts or so and a 100-200 miles. if that still doesn't work pep boys will scan/remove the code for free.

 

Yea as Drew said, your remote start if fine, nothing it wrong with it. The remote start feature stops working when your car is throwing an engine code. My remote start did not work when my check engine light was on.
