Default Pressure for Bias Tires

I recently purchased an '82 that had been sitting since 1994. It had a set of radials on it but they were pretty scary looking so I replaced it with a new set. However these new tires are bias. The manual and door sticker instruct to inflate tires to 35 psi, however the maximum pressure recommended on the the tire is also 35 psi.

Do people think that the pressure recommended on the tire is making allowance for the fact that if inflated "cold" to 35 psi, it will be rising above that during use? Or should I cold inflate to a lower pressure?

I would cold inflate lower and keep an ey on how they wear. If the max is 35 that would be dangerous

I believe my door sticker on my 70SS states 24psi for the bias, but that seemed too low. I typically run between 30 and 32.

between 28 and 32psi is the recommended pressure for a bias ply tire depending on the size of the tires.

They are Shell Comfort Ride II, sized P195/75B14. They are quite possibly older than the car itself. I bought them NOS from a guy who had many in storage. They seem to be doing fine.

I had to put the car up on blocks soon after the OP; I was busy with school/work. However it is back down now.
