Default plug wires info

hey guys and gals, question on plug wires for an '03 3800 pace car,I changed them about two years ago with some Taylor wires but I want some Blue wires, well just for me and looks!! no one seems to have them, I ordered some from jegs the website said they fit my car but when I got them the box says 3.1/3.4 V-6 they are 8mm wires with angled coil ends and straight boots. will these fit AND is this a ok use, meaning not a step down from wires that are made specifically for the 3.8 series II engine? they are also Taylor wires ,Pro Series 8mm spiropro #72600 the blue color is perfect but I am hesitant to install them or just return them for refund! any input my Monte loving friends?? thanks! Claydoh

There is only 2 brands of wires I would ever use, factory ac Delco or find a used set of prj performance wires (prj no longer makes them)

Any other wire is a downgrade and will not last as long.

GM used the same wire material on the 3100/3400/3800 engines, so any wire material spec-ed to work for any of those engines should be "equal" and not a downgrade (just an upgrade if it's better material). And for a stock vehicle, even a lightly modded one, you really don't need "upgraded" wires as there will be little if any gain. But I understand you are after a little engine styling with the color of the wires.

The boots on these 3-4 engine types are also the same (as the 3100/3400 use the same coils as the 3800 and plugs, no odd directions or fitment).

But, the problem you may and probably will have have is wire length. The coils for a 3800 are on the front to the side and on the 3100/3400 the coils are back and to the center. I don't think you'll be happy with the results. My opinion, get a wireset for a 3800.

For years I've used AC Delco or BOSCH wires (but NEVER BOSCH plugs, stick with NGK or AC Delco in my opinion for plugs on a stock car).
