Default New Passlock Cylinder Installed-Door chime acting up

I was having the SECURITY, not starting problems with my 2001 SS, bought and installed a new Passlock ignition cylinder, did the security re-learn, and everything seemed to be working perfectly. Went to put everything back together this morning, and it still starts every time, but now the door chime continues to ding even with the key out of the ignition. It does go away when I shut the door, but is there something I'm missing here? Also, when I install the plastic ignition cover plate (OFF, ACC, ON, START), the key won't turn at all. Anybody ever had this problem? I'm really trying to get this thing sold and I hate electrical quirky stuff.

Thanks!
Dave

It sounds to me that either the lock cylinder is not properly seated in the ignition switch housing, the lock cylinder is wrong for the car, or it is a bad part..... I would put the original one back in (which now you would have to re-do the relearn). If you only have a problem with the Passlock chip and you are interested in getting rid of it, you can by pass it. This is a video from a Grand Am guy, but the passlock in the 99-05 Grand Am works exactly the same as a 00-05 Monte.
