I have a 2000 monte carlo 3400 engine. For the past couple weeks my car was having problems starting with the security/passlock people have been having with this car. I read everyones post saying that it was the ignition lock cylinder that needs replaced. So I bought one replaced it and followed all the steps in order for the system to get the new code from the cylinder to be recognized. Though I am still having the same problem even with the new cylinder and the security light does not flash at all really. My car does start but only after trying for 30 minutes. with the old or new cylinder. Is there any other problems it might be?? I do not really want to do that bypass passlock tutorial, because i am afraid I might mess something up even more trying to do that unless some one could really talk me through it.
