Fuel leak
I agree, the leak should be as simple as pushing the hose back in. Definitely inspect the female side for damage though as that shouldn't just fall off. I'd look around a bit to see if it got snagged on the line somewhere.
But... as you likely dont know the car's history, Id spend the $10 and put a new filter on it now. You're just 1 nut away and the messy part (draining the fuel) is clearly already done.
The one other thing - it should be tucked up tight to the body. Id look and see if theres a clamp the lines or filter should be sitting in when you're putting it back together.
