Default Engine heat on 2006 SS

Hey guys, have any of you with the'06 or '07SS noticed a substantial amount of heat coming off the engine? I drive about 25 miles each way to work and when I park it after the drivethe front end of the car (hood & fenders)is actually hot and yesterday when I went to open the hood, the release latch just about burned me. The temp guage reads normal, but just seems like a lot of heat there. Is this normal onyours?

Never heard of a problem like that and there shouldn't be. That is a big safety issue. I would bring it back to the dealer if still under waranty.

yes, there is a lot of heat generated under the hood... it's normal for our cars... it's all freakin' engine in there! LOL

I removed the plastic engine cover and the rear weather stripping at the base of the windshield so the heat has a way out from under the back of the hood...

If I pull my car in the garage after driving it on a hot day the garage heats up like an oven.

wow, must be an issue on the 06,07 models, because mine doesn't heat up, my truck used to be really bad....but i dont get anything off the monte barely

now you could invest in a universal electric fan under the hood...that may help things out if there's room for it...they usually run anywhere from 50-100 bucks...so not too bad
