Dash/interior lights out!

Dash/interior lights out!
Hello all, first timer here!
I have a '96 Monte and a couple of days ago I lost my interior lights, throwing the car into darkness at night. All my dash lights, radio lights, shifterand door switch lights are out and also the chime that warns you that you've left your lights on. My courtesy/dome light works normally as do the map lights in the mirror.
I have checked the 3 fuse panels, the passenger side interior and the two in the engine compartment but they all look ok. Is there something I've overlooked? Any help is appreciated.
Cheers!

RE: Dash/interior lights out!
Hi `Mick, & Welcome to the MCF
Check for corrosion around the fuse box by the washer fluid
tank (Driver's side). Are your tail-lights working ?
Check your headlight switch (they can go bad also).
Be Patience, & I'm sure some of our Expert Tech member's
will post their suggestions.
Good Luck,

RE: Dash/interior lights out!
Problem solved! The copper tabon the DC In thatroutes powerto that fuse bank had corroded out so, with the aid of a voltmeter, soldering iron and some auto electrical wire, I built a little jumper and now everything works fine!
Thanks for the nudge in the right direction.

RE: Dash/interior lights out!
Hi `Mick,
Glad you found that your tail lights were not working.
That can be Dangerous!
I would check the bulb's in the taillights to see `if they are good.
Also check for corrosion under in the fuse box & under it.
A bad wire can short out the system.
It could also be the light switch, and possible turn signal
switch is shorting out the system.
I hope you have a electrical tester, it sure would help
to trace down the problem.
I hope one of our Expert Tech's reads your posts, and
has a solution to your problems.
We can only give suggestions, without being there &
check'in with you : )
