Default Couple issues. Need help.

Hey guys I'm new here and had a couple issues I need some quick help with. I have an 01 Monte Carlo SS with 3.8 V6. My check engine light is on and throwing 5 codes. It's for crankshaft position sensor, 2 knock sensors, EGR valve, thermostat and O2 sensors. Now I was gonna order all those sensors ASAP. My question is, are there two different knock sensors to buy or do I just order two of the same ones? Also are there 2 O2 sensors or more? I'm ordering these two fix my check engine light and also because sometimes my car will shut off on me while driving. It will also not start right away sometimes.

Also recently my car sputters real bad and has a real hard time getting up to speed. It barely makes it up steep hills. Is this due to bad O2 sensors or one of the sensors going out above? Or do I have a new issue?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

sounds to me more like a bad common ground or something. I'd be surprised if ALL of those sensors were bad

I'd look at the 5 codes a bit more before throwing parts at it.

Sometimes the GM diag charts can tell you if certain codes appear with a specific code something specific to look for.

If you post all five codes, perhaps some of our members can help out.

Ok thanks guys. I'll have to take a trip back to Advanced to see if they can print out the codes for me and then go from there.

The no start issue...
Will be a bad crank sensor most of the time...

It could also be a ground issue... Or a low weak battery.. You only get 3 to possibly 5 yrs out of a battery... (Something to consider...)
I've never heard of both O2 sensors failing at the sametime... You could also have a clogged Catalytic Converter...

1 way to check it...
While its running... feel how much flow is actually coming out of the exhaust pipe.... another way would be to drive it for a good period of time and then look underneath your Monte and see if its glowing red hot...

Just some suggestions..
Keep us posted on your progress...
Thanks!
