Default Cost of new hubs install for an 06 SS?

I've seen that you can buy new hubs for about $60each for the front. I have some ABS and traction control issues and the mechanic at Goodyear says my bearings are going out.

So I need some new hubs.

How much does this typically cost? The dealer wants 250ish each, which seems high. What about at a local mechanic?

Before you replace the hubs, what kind of ABS issues are you having? On my 2001 Monte I had the abs light on and a 'service traction control' message. A mechanic said it was likely the hubs but I did some digging on my own and found out the abs wiring harness to one wheel was bad. 35 dollars for the harness and an easy do it yourself fix.

I had a ABS problem on my 96 MC a LONG time ago. The dash light turned on and they quit working so i thought it was going to turn into a major problem. . . turned out to just be a fuse. lol good luck

I would stay away from cheap hubs. Timken (IMO) makes the best hubs. The estimated labor time for doing both L & R front hubs on my '01 is 1.2 hours. So multiple the hourly rate, add the cost of the hubs and there you go. There is a TSB out on the '01 - '03 models for the harness, but it doesn't hurt to check on yours...

I replaced the rear driver side on mine with a Timken bearing ($87 on amazon) and I paid a mechanic $60 to replace it at the place he runs/manages afterhours.......

a few months back, I had to get new front wheel hubs (because bearings where shot), and new front axle assemblies (because cv joints were shot)... oh, and also needed a new intermediate steering shaft...

I've got 102,xxx miles on the car... and yes, I knew it needed all of this before I took it in to have it checked out, so none of it was a surprise to me when they told me...

cost me about $1,600 for the whole job... was about $5XX for the hubs... $6XX for the axle assemblies... I forget the cost of the intermediate steering shaft... and then my shops hourly rate of 118...

If the dealer purchases the hubs it will be about $240 for each hub, and 1.5 hours of labor on top of that.

If you bring in the hubs, it will probably be 2 hours of labor lol
