Default Compass is off

Just got my Monte (2006 LT) and I noticed that after calibration (driving in circles in a parking lot with the people at staples looking at me like I'm crazy) the compass is off by about 45 degrees. When I know I'm going North it says NE. I know I'm going North because I live in Phoenix, where every road goes either N, S, E, or W; it's just a huge grid. Anyone have any ideas?

I know on my 2002 SS you have to set the compass to region you live in or it won't be accurate. Have you checked to see if your compass is set to the correct region?

MonteMan92 is correct, Phoenix would be zone 5

From the manual -
1. Press the vehicle information button until PRESS TO CHANGE COMPASS ZONE displays.
2. Find the vehicle’s current location and variance zone number on the map. Zones 1 through 15 are available.
3. Press the set/reset button to scroll through and select the appropriate variance zone.
Navigate to one of the trip/fuel menu screens to view the direction the vehicle is moving. This will be shown in the top right corner of the DIC display.
