Yea the car runs good when its cooperating with me i average about 20-21mpg....My last tune up was about this time last year...acceleration is good but sometimes the car is slow to respond..when idle the car fluctuates a lot until it turns off, the RPM is normally just below one if not lower..I only put premium or mid-grade fuel in the car

If you need anymore information let me know

I still think it's IAC/MAF or fuel related.

Also put regular in your car. There is no need to throw your money away.

Check all your vacuum lines too, for leaks

I will probably take it to the shop this week...and I just recently put a higher grade of fuel to see if the problem would stop, that's what I was told to but I will probably down grade the fuel though

Thanks for the help by the way,I will keep updating what happens when I can

I look forward to the updates.

Hell I hope it is something silly like a vacuum leak and it doesn't cost a lot to fix!

but i would do the basics first do a tune up and go from there it is easy to diagnose from there. also rule out old plugs and wires also new filters every where. then check the sensors chibi mentioned then go from there. it might be a off sensor to a bad cat or poor fuel pressure from the fuel pump.

Also, when the problem occurs (if at idle, in park) unplug the MAF and see what happens

I've been doing some reading, my issue is similar. I am waiting on new parts.

MAF/IAC, so far i've changed spark plugs, fuel filter, pcv, and wires.
If the MAF and IAC don't get rid of the issue i'll be buying a new Crank Position Sensor, a good thread from clubgp leads to believe it may also be the culprit. Good luck!
