ignition problems with car starter installed
i have a 2001 monte carlo ls and i was having the passlock problems where it wouldn't let me start the car for about ten minutes and this would happen once about every 30 or 40 starts. so i had a remote start installed to bypass the passlock system and now that it's gettin a bit cold out it's acting really weird. i use the remote start to start it in the mornin about ten minutes before i go out in order for it to warm up inside and what not, but when i get inside and put the key in, turn it to on, and press the brake, it shuts off and acts like the passlock problem as described above. the only difference is that the traction control off light comes on and it says callibration error on the radio. i can take the key out and start the car with the remote, but i have to wait until the inside is warmed up enough for me to use the key. after it is warmed up enough inside it has no problems at all. it has taken longer then 10 minutes once so it is not the passlock system i don't think. does anyone know how to fix this?

RE: ignition problems with car starter installed
i called them today and they said that it is indeed the ignition and the passlock system. they said that there are resistors in the ignition that may change value if they are cold or hot and it sounds like the ignition needs to be replaced with a new passlock system
