Battery change
06 monte lt was sitting for a few months. Battery holds a charge but not that well. So I got a new one. I changed them outbefore on older cars but I have read some stories about radios not working etc due to the security system.
Is there any special procedure I need to do to change the battery ?
So many problems with my car

RE: Battery change
What you're referring to is 95-99 Monte Carlo stereo systems with Theftlock. If your theftlock code is active, and you change the battery, the radio won't work until this code is put into the radio. '00+ Monte Carlos have theftlock (as well as other GM cars), but the radio has the "Radio Data System" (RDS) and so the radio reads the VIN from one of the computer systems on board so there is no need to have a code for the theftlock system.

RE: Battery change
A Tech told me to bridge a 9-Volt Smoke Detector Battery to supply voltage to the Memory Circuits for Radio and other "Memory" functions while you make the big battery exchange.
It was easy to do. So, I did it when I put-in my new DieHard.
The exchange happened and nothing required any resetting.
