i have a 84 monte and the framethat iscracked and rusted,i bought an 85 regal frame and i need to know if it will fit,if so ,do i need to change or modify anything on the regal frame before i stick it under my monte ,here is a pic of my monte and the second one of the regal.

nope both frames are the same if they both had a 305 then your good but if the regal came with the 307 olds or the 3.8 buick then you will have to change the motor mount location
and i would also change the rear as well if it did not come with the 305 as the gears will probly be more of a highway gear

 

thanks for your help 88ss408,i was wondering about it because a few people told me that some holes on the regal frame might be different,but as far as changing the rear end ,i got that planed already with the rear end in my monte came out of a true 86 ss,it's a limited slip posi. and that is definitly going back on ,gotta have my posi. LOL.

 

i hear that on the limited slip man ! but the body mounts at all the same place on all G-body's so all the holes are at the same place and as for the motor mount's the frame is driled in all the difference confic's so if you have to change them out make sure you look in what holes they come from on the old frame the holes are so close together it would not be hard to make a mistake
