Default Does anyone still have the battery insulator on their battery?

I recently had to replace the battery in my 2004 Dale Jr. I noticed that the battery insulator(foam piece that goes around the battery) was no longer on the battery.

Does anyone still have theirs on their battery and do you think it helps the battery at all?

I ordered one from the dealer and installed it but who knows if they really do anything. They are supposed to protect the battery from heat and cold. Let me hear your opinions.

Most of the new cars have them. I would say there must be a reason. I have heard the heat is worse than the cold on batteries.

Mine had a lot of junk on it, so I discarded it after replacing my stock battery after 8.5 years

It would absorb the heat and cold, creating an extra barrier of protection.

Mine clearly does not have the stock battery or this foam peice, but Bait seems to have the idea.

I don't remember if mine still has it on or not. But it does deteriorate over time. I'd say if it's not too expensive, it's an extra bit of protection for your battery.

I throw them away when I change batteries. Haven't noticed a difference one way or the other.
