Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I have a 2000 MC Ls and everytime i turn the ac on it has this squeaky humming noise. Can someone please tell me what this is and how to fix it.

 

Sounds to me like a mouse in your glove compartment that forgot the lyrics to a song.

How about more information? Could be anything from a hanging squirrel cage blower to a bad bearing or other problems. Where's the noise originating from? Under the hood? In the passenger compartment? Is it continuous or sporadic? Any decrease in the air velocity?

Etc.

 

Sounds like the squirrel cage is having problems. You might have to listen real carefully under the dash of the pass side. Or maybe even take off the glovebox.

 

squirrel cage? is that how the A/C gets powered?!

Is that a red squirrel or a gray squirrel ? Is it male or female? What is his/her name? How old is he/she? Is it house broken? OEM or cloned?

Thanks guys you have all been a big help. The squirrel in the cage had passed away and I replaced him with a hamster.

 

Wrong move. You won't get enough CFM unless that hamster has eight legs.
