'03 Monte SS Very Sluggish
I wouldnt pay nothing!!!!! I am reading a letter with the Chevroletheader, It reads " General Motors is providing owners with additional protection for the Catalytic Converter. If this condition occurs on your 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, equipped with a 3.4L or 3.8L V6 engine, within 10 years of the date your vehicle was originally placed in service or 120,000 miles (190,000 km), whichever occurs first, the condition will be repaired for you at no charge. TELL THEM YOU WILL CALL GM IF THEY WILL NOT COVER THE WHOLE COST. THE DEALER WILL GET PAID LABOR FROM GM.
Well the service guy at the dealer conceded they probably would've covered it completely if it was an '01 or '02, but not on an '03 model.
In any case, I guess 175.00 is better than 750.00 which is what theywanted originally. I was mad though because the car is just so slightly over the 80K mark!

Have your VIN Number ready.
You'll see that the Company is DEAD SET on Customer Satisfaction these days and she'll handle your case or hand you over to someone who will!
Good Luck,

Hey i wah just reading over all the replies from your problem. I to was having the same problem on my 78' monte. I had the cat replaced and still was running sluggish. I then replaced the spark plugs because the owner prior to me ran his car rich. I came her for support and answers and many people was in the ball park. I took it to the shop and the problem was a crack cylinder head through the number two piston. So im glad your problem was a very cheap fix because mine was 2 grand. (that included other things too) but i love this website because the people are very supportive.
Hey guys was just looking to see if this would be covered for a 2000? A buddy of mine has about 113k and he is at the begining stages of these symptoms. That and I told him he should go have the test ran at the dealer but he hesitated cuz he thought it be costly. I dont know though, so what do guys think?
