Default Strange bass fading...

Lately my stereo system is acting funny... At random times the bass in the sound system seems to fade, and no matter how much I dial it up it does nothing.. I still get volume, but no bass.
It happens at completely random moments...could be 'blasting' the music and it would be fine... and when I turn it down the bass randomly dials down on its own, or the opposite.
Turning it on and off does not help. The original owner did switch everything to a upgraded amp, then put the factory deck and amp back in before he sold it... All the wiring looks ok from inside the trunk.

Any ideas?

This is totally a guess..
Maybe its a ground issue at the Amp/Radio...
Via a loose connection/corrosion?

I'm sure someone else will have a better solution
Than I have suggested...
But I hope this helps Jen.

I had a loose ground... With similar thing your experiencing.

Mine did the same thing a couple months after I bought my Monte. I pulled the connectors from the amp, sprayed them with some electronic cleaner and it hasn't done it again since. My best guess is the connector had oxidized.
