Default new system

Hey guys I just got a new system put in my 02 Monte. 6x9 Alpines in the back, 6 1/2"s in the door, 10" kicker solo-baric with a 500 watt RMS sub in the back. I'm gonna be adding a 4 channel amp, 50 watts RMS x 4 for the interior speakers. I was wondering if I'm going to have to upgrade the battery or the alternator? Thanks in advance.

I dont have muchexperience with sound systems, but I have seen much more powerful systems running on stock alternator and battery so I think you will be fine.

You should be fine with the stock battery and alternator..

Worse case scenario, you may want to upgrade the battery to a good Optima. If you are going big watts, a stiffening capacitor might be a good idea!

I have approximately 2000 watts drawn at MAX, 1600 RMS, for a single amp, and I dont have TOO much of a problem stock. I need to get some upgrades though, I have some light dim, and voltage droops, and NO, CAPACITORS DO NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.

DEFINATELY GET A YELLOW TOP OR RED TOP OPTIMA, I HAD MY RED TOP OPTIMA BATTERY RUNNING A STEREO SYSTEM FOR 3 YEARS AND THE BATTERY LASTED 6 YEARS. THE OPTIMA BATTERY IS A $100 TO $150 BUT ITS WORTH IT. DO YOU HACE A CAPACITOR TO YOUR AMP? IF YOUR LIGHTS DIM AT NIGHT THEN YOU WILL NEED A CAPACITOR FOR YOUR AMPS.
YOU DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE ALTENATOR WITH A OPTIMA BATTERY AND A CAPACITOR.

COOL SYSTEM
