New system... new battery?!
Morning all. I just upgraded my sound system again this weekend. I added a 75W amp - nothing too heavy. The next day as I was working in my car, my battery went out. Dead. Deader than Pontiac. I'd had 'dead' batteries before, but nothing quite so fail as this one. I had to replace it asap, so I ran out to walmart and got the 78S model, 650 CCA battery and it's working fine now, but my question is... should I get a better batter to handle all the current from my two amps, or should it be able to handle it this time? I'm not certain the age of my old battery, but the voltmeter gauge in the instrument panel wasn't reading it exceptionally low or anything.
Long story short, should I replace aforementioned Walmart battery with something better, or should it tide me over for a while?

Well the amp turns on with the car, and the wiring was done by a well-respected, professional guy I know and he's good at what he does. I haven't had problems before, and the wiring looked solid and just fine to me after he did it.

with that being said it should hold you over for a while it sounds like a bad cell in your battery i would suggest that you should get your alt checked NAPA or AUTO ZONE will do it for free I just want to make sure your charging system is good now and that is what it is bad battery
