Tell me about it. I did some further research on my amp and found out that the amp runs 500 watt RMS and my sub is only rated for 350. Funny cause the peak of the amp is 1,000 and peak on the sub is 1,200. I learned a lot from this. Bought a new sub thats rated for 650 RMS.

Well depends on what you're looking at... These mainstream companies, stick the the RMS ratings as stated above. But there are numerous "underground" companies that have products run up and past they're rated "PEAK" specs... Matter fact most of them dont even post peak specs but one example would be Audioque, the HDC3's run well past the "peak" ratings..

^^ YA.. My RE Audio MT 15" doesn't have any RMS or any other ratings. Mostly because its made purely for SPL allowing you to though thousands of RMS to it. Im going to be putting 4000 when my system is all done...
