Default After market K&N blowing MAF????

Well I gave in and brought my car to chevy. The stalling around corners and stops was caused by bad MAF. They are putting in a factory one ($375) and said it is possible that they K&N system I have in my car could be blowing the MAF sensor. We just replaced it twice already but not with factory. She said we may want to go back to factory air cleaner. Any thoughts? Also if I get a new computer and reprogram can I fix this without changing out the air cleaner?

Others have had this same problem...its because of the oil in the filter and it tends to dirty up the MAF sensor...

Yeah, many people have had issues if you over oil the K&N filter it gunks the MAF. Just get a can of MAF cleaner and follow the directions.

I ran a K&N drop-in filter and now I have a K&N cone that is with my Wizaird. No issues with the MAF to date.

As a GM tech, I see MAF problems come in occasionally, 95% of the time, it is caused by a K&N. Aftermarket MAF sensors aren't the greatest either. I have yet to see one last longer than 6 months.

I have never seen the point to run anything but a paper filter. No one has ever shown me dyno backed data proving they make any more power.
